Barrel bearings are high load-carrying tilting bearings with barrel-shaped rolling elements. These bearings have two rows of rolling elements and a common spherical raceway on the outer ring. They can compensate for misalignment of the shaft relative to the body. The spherical roller bearings can carry radial loads but also large axial loads in both directions.
