LocLine® was the answer to an age-old problem specific to the machine tool industry: How to easily apply coolant at the point of contact between the cutting tool and the metal.
The design was simple and elegant. A ball and socket assembly with enough friction to create a hose that offers unrestricted positioning, full coolant flow, would not fatigue, stay in place and be tailored to the job. Locline® has been and continues to be the number one supplier of coolant to machinists worldwide.
Over the years, the adjustable hose concept has expanded far beyond its initial role of supplying coolant.
History of Loc-Line®
After becoming frustrated with the existing coolant hose products on the market, all of which suffered from various shortcomings, Arnold Lockwood came up with the modular hose idea that became Loc-Line®. Deficiencies in existing products included metal coolant hoses that did not stay where they were placed and plastic hoses with metal locating rods that broke.
In 1981, Lockwood Products was formed to develop and distribute Loc-Line®. The first products were shipped in August 1983. Loc-Line® quickly became the standard for coolant delivery worldwide and was easily recognized by its blue and orange color and consistently high quality.
Where is Loc-Line ® used?
Today, Loc-Line® is still the leader in modular hose and continues to innovate in modular hose. Loc-Line® is used not only as a coolant hose, but also for air supply , vacuum systems for smoke and dust removal, agriculture, for use in third segments including the positioning of cameras, lights and objects to assist the disabled.

The unique Loc-Line modular hose system is fully manually adjustable in position and length.

Bending does not reduce the inside diameter and will not kink or fatigue like copper tubing.

Loc-Line does not have an internal positioning structure that could break or restrict fluid flow.

Continued growth has seen the use of Loc-line® expand into the electronic, scientific, graphics and woodworking industries. In almost any situation that requires precise but adjustable directional flow of liquid, air, vacuum and position of the third arm, Loc-line® will be the perfect solution. With four hose diameters of 1/4", 1/2", 3/4" and 2 ½" to suit many applications and environments, customers have become as diverse as hose combinations.
LOC-LINE hoses are made of high-quality Acetalcopolymer, which is chemically resistant to petroleum products, coolants and common chemicals. Some LOC-LINE parts are also produced in an acid-resistant version (yellow color)
